Haiti Mercy Mission is an organization based out of Nisswa, MN. It is run by my parents Frank & Jeanette McLaughlin. They, along with my brother and a few supporters, just landed in Haiti a few days ago. Little did they know the situation they would find themselves in today.

We were able to talk with them briefly over SKYPE last night to confirm that everyone is okay. They were feeling aftershocks but at the time reports on the extent of damage was unconfirmed.

Today we are learning just how much loss of life is expected to occur.  Please pray for Ann & Sassette who are both Haitian and in Port-au-Prince.  They were heard from last night and were okay, but communication and travel will be impossible for some time.  Ann oversees the orphanage where my parents help and they face a struggle today.

The needs will be many for Haiti Mercy Mission.  I am including this link (click here) for everyone to see that your money will go directly to Haiti.  Your donation will go 100% to providing AID, SUPPLIES, AND COMFORT.  There will be no funds used for administration, overhead, fundraising, etc.  I have set an initial target at $10,000 dollars.

The real impact for the rest of the country is the transportation system halting.  Food, fuel, and everyday items are generally scarce in country like Haiti.  This earthquake will make it a crisis in a very short period of time.  We will be trying to keep in contact with my parents to see how we can try and assist in the delivery of supplies to their remote location.
